The SecurityCameraSystemsHQ.com Review
One Of The Best Outdoor Security Camera Systems Available
Like many of Logitech’s home security camera systems, the 750e rises to the top of the competition thanks to powerful brand name recognition from new and experienced users alike,an extremely functional set of features, and a price that’s hard to argue with.
Built To Withstand The Elements
Even a cursory glance at the box for the 750e system shows that this system is purpose-built for outdoor environments, ready to weather the elements in a way that the indoor camera systems might not be able to handle. This necessarily comes with a slight increase in price, but I was surprised to see just how little the increase actually was.
Most importantly, the camera that comes with this system is fully weatherproofed. Some of the reviews I’ve read indicated that the camera was holding up nicely to extreme rain and cold,a good sign for midwesterners like me who are all too familiar insane weather patterns!
An Expandable System That Scales With Your Needs
Another great feature here is that of expandability:The 750e is a “master system”which comes with one camera, software, and all the necessary cables to get up and running out of the box. If you need more cameras, you can add up to 5 more. The camera name and model number you should be looking for is the “Alert 700e.”I would personally get the master system and at least one more camera so that my front and back doors are covered, but your living situation may differ. It all comes down to how large your property is,so expand the Logitech outdoor camera system appropriately to match your needs.
Miscellaneous Goodies
Other useful features include night vision, motion activation,in-camera flash memory recording so that the system doesn’t need to always be tethered to a home PC,and the ability to view your live feed from any major smartphone.
The latter capability is especially impressive, and one that I use with the indoor-equivalent to this system (the Logitech 750i). In practice,I’ve found the image to be very clear on my iPhone, and I imagine that Android users will have a similar experience.
For camera mounting,Logitech has thoughtfully included a nice spread of mounting hardware, but you should feel free to rig your own custom mounts if you are so inclined. For my 750i system at home,I just use hooks that I bought from a hardware store.
Overall
The huge potential for expanding to more cameras (up to 5 in addition to the camera included with the system),easy to use “Commander”software, and rugged build quality of the 750e system make it extremely easy to recommend.
If there are any downsides to this system,I would point out the iffy documentation, something most of the other Logitech systems suffer from as well. Thankfully, the system is so easy to set up that you shouldn’t really need to rely too heavily on the manual.
